About Overtly

Most of what an organization knows sits in documents few people read twice. Overtly turns that material into short, practical courses, and ties every factual claim to a source you can open.

What we publish

Two kinds of course, and each says which it is.

  • Overtly originals are built from published research on subjects where the best material is scattered across papers, reports and case studies.
  • Creator courses are built from a named person's or organization's own material: their decks, handbooks and recorded sessions. The creator stays the author and approves the course before it is published.

The catalogue is young and grows one course at a time. Enrollment is free for now.

How a course is made

  1. Sources first. We gather the material the course will rest on and record where each piece comes from.
  2. An outline the author approves. Modules and lessons are agreed before any lesson is written.
  3. Written from the sources. Lessons are drafted with AI, under the author's direction, from the sources and nothing else.
  4. Checked, separately from the writing. A claim check tests every factual claim against the source it cites. A language check tests how the course reads. Both are run by AI, and neither is run by the part that wrote the lesson.
  5. Approved by a person. Nothing is published until the author has read it and signed it off.

What "Verified by Overtly" means

It means every claim in the course was checked against the source it cites. It does not mean the course is guaranteed, and it does not mean an outside expert read it.

A course says Expert reviewed only when a named specialist has reviewed it, and it names them. No course in the catalogue is expert reviewed yet. Courses that give safety or medical guidance will not be published without one.

Where a course rests on its author's own practice, the check confirms that the course says what the author's material says. The course page tells you so.

What you will not find here

  • Invented experts, credentials, learner counts or ratings. We show none until they are real.
  • A claim without a source. If we computed a figure ourselves, the lesson says so.
  • Advertising or tracking. See the privacy notice.

Up to three depths

Courses are being built in two or three depths, so you can choose how far to go. Shorter formats, such as primers, come in one. Depths are added course by course.

Who is behind Overtly
